A new test of CAPD designed to measure temporal resolution
Temporal resolution, critical to speech perception, involves the ability of the auditory system to detect rapid changes in offsets of and onsets of sound.
In this test, patients are scored according to their ability to detect changes in the duration of gaps of silence embedded within a noise burst.
Research suggests that the GIN is not influenced by maturational effects after age 6 making it a valuable addition to central auditory test batteries for both children and adults
